Can u help me with this math problem? u have 2 show ur work and it has 2 be in general linear form ax+by=c?

y=8/3x-5

Can u help me with this math problem? u have 2 show ur work and it has 2 be in general linear form ax+by=c?
All you're doing here is manipulating the equation so that it's in the more general form...

So let's do this - Let's subtract Y from both sides to get it on the same side with the X:

0=8/3x-y-5

Now, let's get that 5 over to the other side so it's got the C over there. So let's add 5 to both sides.

5=8/3x-y

And flip it 'round...

8/3x-y=5

A=8/3, B=-1, C=5

Reply:Sure! the general linear form of y=8/3x-5 is -8/3+y=-5. Where 8/3 is "ax" and "by" is 1y or y and -5 is "c".

Work:

y=8/3x-5

-8/3x -8/3x

-8/3x+y=-5

Reply:your problem is of the form y = mx + b

where m is the slope and b is the y - intercept.

your m = 8/3 and your b = -5

first: multiply all terms by 3

you have: 3y = 8x - 15

next: transposed 3y to the right side, and -15 to the left side

you have: 15 = 8x - 3y or 8x - 3y = 15.
Reply:add 5 to both sides ( it should cancel the 5 on your right side), then you need to subtract the y from both sides (so it can cancel the y on the left side) and you will end up with your answer!!!
Reply:Its very simple , you dont have to do much.

ur equation: y = 8/3x-5

Take the x factor on the L.H.S.and C on the R.H.S.

8/3x-y = 5

This is your ax+by=c form.

that gives A= 8/3, B= -1, C=5.
