3 math problems?

1. (F-32) 5 over 9 =C

If F equals 50 what does C equal?

2. There is a math sign that is a "%26gt;" over "_" and one that is "%26lt;" over "_". what does it mean?

3. x I 0.5 I 1 I 2 I 4 I 5 I 10 I

y I 2 I 1 I 0.5 I 0.25 I ? I ? I

what is the rule? and what does 5 and 10 equal?

^^Sorry about the "graph" I can't make it any better...

thanks. also, please provide an explanation with your answer!

3 math problems?
1. c=10

5(50-32)/9=c

order of operations tell you to do parenthesis first, so

5(18)/9=c

5 *2=c

10=c

2. the sign __ that is found under your inequality sings mean that the number is "or equal to"

for example

2x%26gt;6 reads 2x is greater than 6, but if that sign had been underlined it would read 2x is greater than or equal to 6. this means that the term 2x can be equal to 6, so x could equal 3.
Reply:1.

(50-32)5/9 =

18 *5/9 =

2 x 5 = 10 degrees C

2. '%26gt;' over '_' means 'greater thsn or equal to'.

'%26lt;' over '_' means 'less than or equal to'.

3.

'x' I cannot see the sequence of terms. - Sorry- but a guess is the rule is the previous term multipled by 2, but 4 %26amp; 5 are out of sequence.

'y' The rule is the previous term multiplied by 0.5.

y; 2;1;0.5;0.25;0.125;0.0625
Reply:1. (50 - 32) * (5/9) = C

C = 10

2. The %26gt; over _ is "greater than or equal to". The %26lt; over _ is "less than or equal to". If x %26gt;_ 5, that means that x can be any number greater than 5 but also includes the number 5.

If x %26lt;_ 5, x can be any value less than 5 but still includes the number 5.

3. The rule with your table values is y = 1/x.

The missing value under 5 is 1/5 = 0.20.

The missing value under 10 is 1/10 = 0.10.
