How to be better at math?!?

I am going into 7th grade and I got into accelerated math. I dont know how, I think it was a mistake because I got C's in my math class. My math techer is really mean, she was my sub sometimes last year. Anyway, I am really bad at math, but I dont want to make a fool out of myself in my math class and i want to keep my math grades up. plus i want my parents to see how much my math grade is improving, i want them to be proud of me. Thanks so much!

How to be better at math?!?
Practice, practice, practice.

Get together with someone and work together to improve eachother and challenge eachother, and at the same time--have some fun and laughs.

Also, math builds on foundations. I had a college professor tell me that I'm not good at math because my math skills didn't have solid foundations. He said I needed to go back and review, maybe even back to elelmentary school math! He suggested several workbooks, which I don't remember names of, but they are like GED or SAT study guides. Make sure they cover how to work the answer, and why. Doing a pre-test like for the ACT, SAT or whatever may help you to discover your weak spots so you can work on them. Also, discover your strong areas. Like, I'm terrible at most math, but if it is MONEY, then I'm a lot better and can figure most things out. That is partly because it's interesting to me and partly because I am a visual learner and it's easy to picture the money. (Also practice like playing Monopoly, too!) So, if I wanted to work on my math, there are several clues there. I need to be able to picture the problem and how to do it. I need to find a way to picture the numbers. I might need to find some games to play that use that kind of math, etc, etc.

If you don't know your natural learning style--ask your parents and previous teachers. Maybe your school has some tests you can take. Once you know your learning style, and your strengths and weaknesses, it will be just a matter of working on it. Then the benefits will last a lifetime.

Live well and do good.

P.S. I missed the obvious--you should consider changing classes. You may have been put where you don't want to be and if you struggle all year long--then you'll just hate math like I do! My niece was in gifted and talented and they put her in accelerated math. Well, she isn't good at math. She was miserable all year and it effected her grade point average, too. Just because you are gifted and talented in SOME areas, doesn't mean you belong in all the accelerated classes! That's a problem of administration--they want to group all the students--be glad they group you in the smart ones--but don't let them, when you know better. You know your math ability, so have your parents go talk to the school. OK?
Reply:if you keep studying, then it'll be stuck in your head.

oh, and good luck
Reply:The ONLY thing you can do is get a tutor and do math problems over and over and over and over and OVER!
Reply:Do your homework, check it, and do it all over again, seriously.

Then... You do your homework again, and check it, and do it all over again.

Then... You do homework, check it, and do it again

That's how you get better.... Sorry to say that it's gonna kill you but, my uncle told me that I have to do this so, I'll get better, and boy, was he right!!

So... It's just pretty much like that the other top posts says. O_O
