Math teacher babying me and I feel even more dumb?

I ask my mother the other day to explain something to me about math, then when she couldnt help me I said thanks and walked out, this is the first time I have ever asked for her help.

So she freaked out about it and called my math teacher and told her to check up on me and check my work and all that stuff even though my work is always done. Now the math teacher wont leave me alone and I'm getting angry and I feel really stupid and I know I am. She sits by me while I do my work and points out everything to me and treats me like a baby, I'm getting frustrated b/c if I don't understand something I don't have anyone to ask b/c if I ask the math teacher then she is going to continue to baby me and I just want her to stop, and I cant ask my mother b/c I dont know what she will do and I dont want to bother her. The teacher is by my side the whole time so I feel really stupid b/c she lets the other kids be.

I don't understand the work and I'm so scared to get anything wrong what can i do

If you need help in math, ask your teacher if you can meet after school for help. Tell her you do not want that extra attention during class time. It makes you uncomfortable.

Maybe one of your friends can help you.
Reply:Math was always my worst subject so I feel your pain but in my case I wasn't helped. My teachers just expected me to get it the first time they explained it. It got to the point where I had to go to special kids class for math and I still didn't get it. I'm sorry your getting unwanted attention maybe you should talk to the principal about the teacher, it can almost be considered harrassment.
Reply:Have the courage to ask.
Reply:Ask your teacher to give you a little space, Tell her that when she sits by you while your working it stresses you out and makes it so you can't work. And if you need help try asking another math teacher for help. If they have a prep hour at you school consider getting tutored for a while till you understand.
Reply:I think it's fair to ask your teacher to back off. Politely, it's, "I appreciate your help. I can work on these on my own, but can I call you if I have questions?"

If that doesn't work, you might need to consult either a guidance counselor or a principal.
