As a computer science student, I am just wondering and trying to find out what is the relevance of discrete math in programming, like in C or Java. Can you name me some programs or some simple sample programs that uses discrete math?

flight simulator games are based on this. they're solving discrete equations on the fly that simulate the dynamics of an airplane. there are many other games that do the same thing. also, software that is used for music and recording use discrete math algorithms.
