Math Question !?

So the math problem is this


2/c+1 , - 1

2 +, 5/c+1





So I times both side by the LCD to get rid of the fractions





And I got this


2 - (c+1)


________


2(c+1) + 5





but is this right ? In the numerator am I supposed to multiply the - with (c+1)





Or is the numerator supposed to be like this





2 - c + 1 ?
