5th grade math?

pls help 5th grade math. c+3c=32 pls explain how u got answer. thanx

5th grade math?
one orange and three oranges makes four oranges, right?

so 1c and 3c = 4c

c+3c=32

4c = 32

.. now if we divide both sides by 4 we get

4c/4 = 32/4

.. now we can cross out and we are left with

c = 8

ANS: c = 8
Reply:combine like terms

4c = 32; divide by 4

c = 8
Reply:ok...it just very simple..

first combine like terms so its

c+3c=32

c and 3c is one term that becomes

4c=32 divide both sides 4 so

c=8
Reply:my god we didnt learn variables in 5th grade!!! sheesh how long before they start teaching algebra to third graders ?!!!?? sheesh omg wat is up with these moronic "geniuses" who keep making school harder sheesh we already hate it isnt that enough!?!?!?!
Reply:c+3c= 4c which equals 32. So you know that 4 c = 32
