Math, what should i do?

how do you know if you're good at it or not?

i mean, i've always gotten an a in math. (not saying that i've never struggled to. in fact i was pretty borderline last semester and have a B+ this semester) but i can do it.

well, except for this year. this year i'm doing algebra II and i'm just not getting it. maybe it's b/c i spend virtually no time on it and i don't understand what my teacher says while i'm taking notes b/c she's really smart and i'm tired by the time i have that class. but i don't understand it. i just do it

should i look towards a career w/ lots of math in it? i'm indifferent towards it and it seems like all careers that pay $ involve it.

btw, i love science (except chem b/c i had the crappiest teacher and i didn't get the math part)

Math, what should i do?
Do you like reasoning? thinking? solving problems?

Do you always want to seek for the truth? or prove something true or not true?

Do you like abstract objects/lines/shapes?

Do you like programming?

If so, a math career is right for you!

Algebra 2 can be challenging for students. When you go over the materials over and over again or if you have a great math teacher, algebra 2 can be very fun! Some students do well in calculus even when they did poorly in algebra 2 ( I could never figure out why.)

If you want a career related to science or technology, you will need to be good in mathematics. It is also true that mathematicians tend to make more money, except for teaching in most cases.

Enjoy! I hope you will find math interesting and fun!
Reply:Most (not all) of the best paying careers require it - so stick with it.

Thanks

Bill
