Math HW Help Please?
you really should do your own math home work but for a) You need to add 2 to both sides, then divide the answer on the left my 3. X=4
Reply:I can help you. I learned this stuff earlier in the year.

1. Use the formula FOIL. Multiply the first monomials (2a...) and write it down. Multiply the outside monomials, then the inside, then the last ones. Simplify.

2. Srry, cant help you with that one.

a.) To solve for x, get it alone on one side of the equation. First, minus two from both sides, getting 3x= 8. Then divide both sides by 3 to find out what x is by itself. The answer must be...2 2/3.

b.) For this one, -k from both sides, and then divide each side by a. Your answer should be x= c-k/a

c.) First make both fractions into common denominators. Which would be 4x over 12 + 3x over 12, which is 7x over 12. If 7x over 12 is 1/2, I would cross multiply. That means that the product of one diagonal of #'s is equal to the other. So 14x is equal to 12. Divide each side by 14, and you get 6/7.

d.) For this one, it is similar to a. Minus 11 from each side, and you know the rest. Simplify and divide.

e through i, these are the same as d.

for #4, it seems confusing. i havent learned that yet, so youll have to get that from someone else.

Srry if you cant understand, and ask your teacher for more help if you need it.

:)
Reply:Ill help you with d, e, f, g. Ok so...

In d) -2x+11 = 29

subtract 11 on both sides..

-2x = 18

divide both sides by -2

x= -9

In e) x+95 = 4x-10

Add 10 to both sides and subtract x from both sides...

105 = 3x

Divide both sides by 3

x = 35

In f) 4x+12 = 6x

First, subtract 4x from both sides..

12 = 2x

divide both sides by 2

x = 6

In g) 8(2x-3)=-16

First, distribute 8 to the #s in the parentheses..

16x - 24 = -16

Then, add 24 to both sides..

16x = 8

divide both sides by 16

x = 1over 2, (1/2)

Those are basically the steps to solving most of your problems...
