Math major?

Hello,

I am doing my bachelors, but i am confused about my major. At first i chose computer science but now i don't want to do it. I want to go in to math major but i am not good at it. My grades for my math classes are as follows:

algebra - A

Geometry -B

Precalc- B

Calculus - B ( I got D once and i retook it again in mini session and i got B)

Calculus 2 - C ( I failed once and i retook it in minisession and i got C)

So based on my grades do u think math major is good for me. I know most of u would say it is a bad idea, but if i try my best now, can i major in math? Are there any one out there with math major who didn't have perfect grades but managed to do B.S in math? Thank you

Math major?
The real question is which area is more interesting for you.

Do you want to pursue graduate studies? Then the grades will matter until get into graduate school. The math classes you took already is just the beginning. In higher level math you will be proving theorems and applying these ideas to different applications.

You are still in a good situation, I know alot of graduate students who had to take calculus two or three times. The mathematics at that level is not interesting, becomes interesting later on. It's better if you have good grades on the more advanced classes in math.

Perhaps, you can major in math and get a minor in CS, this will be attractive to alot of employers and graduate schools.

Like I said, it all depends on what you want to do, and if you have interest.
Reply:Hey man if you want to be a math major go for it don't be discouraged just keep going!
Reply:I am considering majoring in math in terms of earning a second B.A. degree. I have two degrees (B.A. and A.A) in areas other than math. However, I have learned enough math to answer math questions on this and other forums.

I say to you---%26gt;GO FOR IT! Don't listen to anyone but yourself.

You can always hire a math tutor, buy math instructional dvds or vhs tapes or get help from online math forums.

Not all math majors earn an A on every test and in every math course. Only if you are genious and there are very few people that fall in that category.

I say, don't let anyone stop you! I could have had my math degree by now (age 42) but listening to people and their wrong advice messed me up BIG TIME!

Go for it!!
